| Project C.A.S.P.E.R - Cardiac Adapted Sleep Parameter Electrocardiogram Recorder - is an innovative approach to sleep monitoring using state of the art technologies and techniques from Earth in Space.
Project CASPER has been selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) to fly onboard the International Space Station in 2006. The project researchers are Dr. Marc O’Griofa and Dr. Derek O’Keeffe. University of Limerick, Ireland.
In July 06 the Discovery Space Shuttle STS121 mission successfully delivered ESA astronaut Thomas Reiter on board the ISS completing Phase One of Project C.A.S.P.E.R.
In October 06 Phase 2 of the experiment launched onboard the Russain Progress Spacecraft 23P which sucessfully docked with the International Space Station.
This experiment is scheduled to return to earth (Kennedy Space Centre) onboard the Discovery Space Shuttle in December 2006.
